Embark on a 19-day odyssey through the enchanting wonderland of Peru, where every step unveils a tapestry of ancient civilizations, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant cultures. This immersive journey promises an extraordinary exploration of diverse regions, from the historic heart of Cusco to the iconic wonders of Machu Picchu and beyond.

Itinerary

When you arrive in Lima, we will transport you from the airport to your accommodation.

We will pick you up at 12.30 p.m. for a four-hour tour around the city. The tour will begin with a stop at square San Martin and the Jiron de la Union, a gorgeous boulevard that leads to Plaza de Armas, the city’s main square.

We next proceed to the World Heritage Site of San Francisco Monastery. This convent’s Spanish Baroque architecture is well-known and stunning to see. We travel through the Catacombs, Lima’s first cemetery, which are hidden under these monastery floors.

Our driver will take you to your hotel, where you may relax for the rest of the day.

 

We’ll leave for Paracas at 5:30 a.m. today, following breakfast at your hotel. When you arrive, we will take you to Paracas Bay to enjoy the boat journey to the Ballestas Islands, three little islands rich in nature just minutes from the coast.

We’ll see the “Candelabro,” a large candelabra-shaped hieroglyph, on the route to the islands. When we get to the Ballestas Islands, we’ll stay on the boat to observe the wonderful wildlife, which include loud yet playful seals and sea lions, as well as a plethora of seabirds including Humboldt penguins, pelicans, curlews, Inca terns, Peruvian boobies, red-footed cormorants, and guanayes.

Following our tour of the islands, we will proceed to the Ica region, stopping along the way to sample piscos and wines at wineries and vineyards. We’ll then stop for lunch before continuing on to Ica.

We will next travel to the Huacachina oasis, where we will have a sand buggy ride and do some sandboarding for those interested. After this adventure, we will proceed to the hotel in Ica, where we will spend the night.

After breakfast, we will journey to Nazca, a 2.5 hour trip, where we will arrive at the airport and fly over the spectacular Nazca Lines for 40 minutes. During our trip over the Nazca Lines, we will be able to see fantastic figures such as the monkey, hummingbird, tree, parrot, astronaut, dog, condor, and others.

We will continue our tour to the Cantayoc aqueducts, Paredones, and the Chauchilla cemetery after this excursion, and we will have our lunch in one of Nazca’s restaurants. In the afternoon, we’ll take a bus to Arequipa for around 9 to 10 hours, taking in the sights along the route.

 

After breakfast, we will continue with your Arequipa city tour, which will include the Plaza de Armas, one of Peru’s most beautiful squares, and the Cathedral, an exquisite example of nineteenth-century Peruvian architecture that holds stunning gold and silver treasures.

We also visit the Church “La Compañía” and the old Jesuit temple, which is one of Arequipa’s most important historical and cultural monuments and has a wonderful facade to behold. After that, we’ll go to the Convent of Santa Catalina, a “small city” established in the 17th century that has been closed for 400 years. We conclude the journey in the Santa Maria Museum, where we will see a wonderfully preserved mummy named Juanita – after the visit, we eat lunch together and the rest of the day is free to explore Arequipa.

 

After breakfast, we go on a full-day excursion, arriving at Puno’s most popular attraction after 2 hours of driving. We drive to “Cruz del Condor,” where we can admire the depths and magnificence of the world’s deepest canyon. You will also be able to view nature’s breathtaking grandeur and observe the Condor, the Colca’s symbol.

After exploring the numerous settlements and panoramas of the Pinchollo region, including Antahuilque, where you can witness pre-Inca tombs, pre-Inca agricultural terraces, and learn about our ancestors’ domain of agriculture, we will return to Chivay. 

We’ll also go to Maca and Yanque, two additional Colcan towns. We’ll continue on to Puno after lunch, where we’ll spend the night.


We will pick you up from your accommodation in Puno about 8 a.m. and transport you to the port. We then set off  by motor boat to one of the famous Uros Islands, where you will be able to observe how the Uros people live on floating reed islands, some of which are just 20 meters long!

After a spectacular three-hour boat ride, we will arrive at Taquile Island, where we will explore the ruins and meet the stunning residents, who are world famous for their intricate and unique weavings. We’ll return to Puno after lunch, where you’ll spend the night.

We will pick you up from your accommodation at 7:00 a.m. and begin our journey to Cusco via the Route of the Sun or the South Valley. Along the route, we’ll witness mountains, grazing pampas, alpacas, llamas, and ancient monuments like Pucara, Raqchi, Andahuaylillas, and Piquillacta. After a lengthy travel, we will arrive at Cusco.

After breakfast at your hotel in Cusco, we will pick you up at roughly 9:30 a.m. and take you on a tour of the city and nearby ancient attractions. The first destination is the Cathedral of Cusco, followed by Qoricancha (Sun Temple), a stunning Inca temple that is a great example of ancient architecture. Then we head to the Convent of Santo Domingo.

We continue on to the ancient site of Sacsayhuaman, one of the great Inca megalithic architectural style buildings that only the gods could enable to attain such artistic perfection.Then there’s Q’enqo, which boasts a plethora of perplexing religious carvings that can only be understood by ancient Andeans.

We then head to the Puca Pucara walls. Finally, we visit Tambomachay, the water temple, and marvel at its crystalline water fountains. You are free to explore Cusco on your own in the afternoon. 

At 7:30 a.m., we pick you up from your hotel. The first stop is the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which passes via Pisac, a colonial city. While seeing the city, we’ll stop at an indigenous and traditional market to buy items and presents. We next proceed to the Pisac ancient relics, which have been beautifully molded into the highest mountains. The tour will then continue to the picturesque towns of Calca and Urubamba, where we will have a buffet lunch with traditional stews. 

In the afternoon, we’ll head to Ollantaytambo and see the Inca archeological site, which was inhabited 500 years ago and is still in fine shape. On our way back to Cusco, we will travel via Chinchero, one of the most remarkable destinations in the Andes, with its plateaus of multicolored agricultural fields, the Valley’s chain of snow-capped hills, and a stunning sunset – you will be in awe! We will also visit the colonial church located in an Inca palace, as well as the site museum emphasizing Andean fashion, before returning to Cusco about 7 p.m.


We will pick you up from your hotel about 4:30/5:30 a.m. and travel south through Urcos to the Checacupe district (2 hour bus journey), then to Pitumarca for breakfast. The trip then continues until we arrive at Hanchipata – Quesiuno (1 hour and 20 minutes by bus), the appropriate starting place for the walk. We’ll see majestic mountains like Ausangate, as well as beautiful turquoise lagoons and other natural beauties.

The trek to Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) will take around 1.5 hours. We’ll spend approximately an hour at the top snapping photographs of the breathtaking surroundings before descending the mountain and returning to our bus. We’ll return to Cusipata for lunch before heading back to Cusco.

Early pick up in your hotel, enjoy a breakfast in Mollepata then start your trek in Soraypampa (3900 m.a.s.l.), where we will meet our horsemen and horses, who will carry all the camping equipment and begin our hike to the Humantay lake (4200 m.a.s.l.).

After the visit to the Humantay lake we will return to Soraypampa where our cook will be waiting for us with lunch, then you’ll go to our basecamp Salkantaypampa from where we can enjoy the beautiful views of the snowy peak of Salkantay, and enjoy an afternoon tea and a delicious dinner.

 

Wake up with a cup of coca tea and enjoy breakfast with fantastic views of the mountains, then reach the highest point Salkantay pass at 4600 m.a.s.l in 3 hours. From there, we will walk towards Wayrac Machaq, to have our lunch. Then, we will continue into the high jungle where we will observe large trees with their arms extended over the streams, all full of bromeliads and orchids. and downhill until the 2nd campsite.

Early wake up and have breakfast; we start hiking along the cloud forest for 3 hours. Observe the fantastic landscape of rivers, and waterfalls; after lunch, 3 hours more arrive at Lucmabamba campsite where you have ziplining activity then back to the campsite where you can enjoy activities in coffee plantations and process. 

* If you would like you can go to Cocalmayo hot springs that is located 30 min from our campsite (not including extra transportation and entrances) let as to to organize this extra activity.

Wake up with a great breakfast and start hiking to Llactapata from where you can have a great view of the landscape and Machu Picchu then you’ll walk downhill to Hydroelectric for lunch and continue hiking another 3-hrs to Aguas Calientes. Tonight you’ll spend in a Hotel.

After breakfast, we take the early buses up to Machu Picchu for the sunrise. Explore the best of Machu Picchu with your private tour guide. Once you finish, you will take the  train and bus back to Cusco.

After breakfast, we’ll go on an exciting ATV trip in the picturesque Morada de los Diose, which has many sculptures and stone carvings portraying Andean culture and is a unique site to experience while in Cusco. 

Finally, you have time to explore the city on your own while we get ready for the 24-hour bus ride to Puerto Maldonado, which departs around 8/9pm. 


Once we arrive at the bus terminal, we will be transferred to the Monte Amazonico Lodge. and from here we take a hour-long boat ride to our accommodation.We are greeted with an array of local fruits, and then embark on a two-hour walk through the dense tropical forest, led by an expert local guide.

Here you will appreciate a variety of trees that can be hundreds of years old, as well as observe some species of wild animals such as toucans, oropendolas, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, and much more!

We take in the splendor of the Amazon rainforest, which is protected by the Tambopata National Reserve (278,000 hectares). After lunch, we will visit “Monkey Island,” which is located across the Madre de Dios River in front of our resort, where we will witness a variety of species, including the capuchin monkey family, before returning to the lodge.

At night, we will seek for white caimans, which are frequently seen on the sandbanks in the Madre de Dios River. We’ll also have the chance to see the capybara, the world’s largest rodent, which can weigh up to 60 kilos, before heading back to the lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest. 

After breakfast, we’ll hike 3 kilometers through deep rainforest to Sandoval Lake (piranha habitat), one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve, and have a paddle boat trip to witness a variety of birds and animals. 

Before returning to the resort for a traditional lunch, we will have the chance to encounter a family of endangered giant otters and the biggest caimans said to be more than four meters long!

We’ll return to Puerto Maldonado in the afternoon, and you’ll spend the night in the hotel of your choice.


Our tour comes to an end, and after breakfast you will be taken to Puerto Maldonado airport.
