Description
Laguna Humantay is a beautiful glacial lake located in the Peruvian Andes near the Humantay snow-capped mountain. With intensely turquoise waters, the lake is a popular tourist destination and a stunning spot surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes. Access to the lake requires a moderate hike, adding an adventurous element to the experience. Laguna Humantay is renowned for its scenic beauty and cultural significance in the Andean region of Peru.
Itinerary
The tour begins with pick-up from your accommodation between 4 am and 4:30 am, heading towards Mollepata where breakfast will be served. From there, we continue to the starting point of the hike at Soraypampa (3850 m / 12,631 ft). The hike lasts approximately 2 hours (considering individual fitness levels). Here, you have the option to rent horseback riding services (not included). You’ll have free time for taking photographs, approximately 30 to 40 minutes, before beginning the descent back to Soraypampa.
Afterwards, we return to Mollepata for lunch following a brief rest. We then head back to Cusco, arriving approximately between 5 pm and 5:30 pm. The tour concludes at Plaza San Francisco, from where you can proceed to dinner or return to your accommodation.
