Your adventure begins early with pickup from Cusco around 6:00 a.m., starting a scenic journey toward one of the most impressive points along the route: Abra Málaga.
As you ascend, the landscapes change dramatically until you reach this high mountain pass, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Nevado Verónica (5,893 m), one of the most iconic peaks in the region.
From here, the experience splits into two options:
- Standard option: Continue by private transport descending toward the high jungle
- Adventure option (biking): Bike descent from Abra Málaga, crossing different microclimates down to the tropical zone (additional cost: USD 30)
During the descent, you’ll witness the incredible ecological transition from the Andes to the Amazon, passing through cloud forests, rivers, and lush vegetation.
Finally, you’ll arrive at Bella Victoria Ecolodge, located at approximately 1,200 meters above sea level, where the climate is warm and surrounded by nature.
After settling into your accommodation, you’ll enjoy a traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients.
Chocolate Ceremony – Immersive Experience
In the afternoon, you’ll begin a hike to the cacao plantations, where one of the most enriching experiences of the tour begins.
Here, you’ll learn step by step:
- Cacao cultivation and care
- Harvesting techniques
- Bean processing
- Artisanal chocolate making
The best part is you won’t just be watching, you’ll be part of the whole process and even make your own chocolate.
This activity engages all your senses, from aromas to textures and flavors, all in a truly unique natural setting.
It lasts about 2 hours.
At the end of the day, you’ll return to the ecolodge to enjoy a traditional dinner and a well-earned rest surrounded by nature.
