Itinerary
Pick up from your accommodation early in the morning, we will start our adventure to the Humantay Lake with a 3:30 hours trip by transport to Soraypampa (3850 m.a.s.l.).
In Mollepata we’ll have a delicious breakfast to start the day, then we head towards Soraypampa to start our trek to the Humantay Lake (4200 m.a.s.l.) with beautiful views and if the sky is clear enough, we can see the impressive Salkantay and Humantay snow-capped peaks.
It’s a 2 hour hike to the lake with a low to moderate difficulty. It’s also possible to rent a horse. We will have enough time to take pictures, take an offering to the Apus, as the millenary ritual in honor of Mother Earth or Pachamama.
After some free time, we’ll begin our descent to Salkantay Pampa (approximately 3 hours where the cook awaits us with an Andean lunch, the basecamp is located at the foot of Abra Salkantay an excellent place to spend the night. In the afternoon Salkantay Pampa we will have a dinner organized with our chefs and an unforgettable bonfire
Start the day with breakfast, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful stages. The snow-capped Salkantay is the second-highest mountain in Cusco (at 6,271 meters) and one of the most imposing in Peru. Reach the pass offer you some difficulty but you’ll be secure with us and enjoy the incredible scenery with a 2 hour walk from Salkantay pampa, in the Abra Salkantay will have a time of connection with the Pacha Mama, mystical tourism with trained staff, we will have enough time for photos. Then back to our campsite to have the last lunch and start your back to Cusco.
