Lares Trek to Machu Picchu

After breakfast, we head to the first activity of the day; observing the weaving of Alpaca textiles. Then, we begin our ascent towards the Ipsaycocha Pass (4200 m / 13779 ft). Here, we’ll enjoy the incredible view of Mount “Verónica” at 5750 m (18,865 ft) and recharge our energy to continue hiking to Lake Ipsaycocha, where we’ll have lunch. Afterwards, it’s time for the final trek to Patacancha where we set up camp and have dinner.

After breakfast, we begin walking downhill towards Ollantaytambo, to observe traditional textile practices and weaving. Then, we continue towards Wylloq for a brief rest. Afterward, we trek for two hours to Pumamarca and enjoy the Inca terraces. Following this, we head back to Ollantaytambo for lunch and board the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we’ll take you to your hotel and have dinner.

After breakfast, we take the bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel where your guide will be waiting to start your 2-hour guided tour. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or, if you’ve made reservations for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (please verify availability), you can continue your adventure. Once you’ve finished your experience, take the opportunity to have lunch before boarding your train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll return to Cusco by van.

Note: There’s an option to spend an extra night in Aguas Calientes for an additional US $30, and return the next day.
