Itinerary

Embark on your Peruvian adventure with a warm welcome upon arrival in Lima. Your tour group will ensure a smooth transition to your hotel in this modern metropolis. Lima, a city rich in history and undergoing cultural and economic transformations, offers a fascinating backdrop for the start of your journey.

In the afternoon, after settling into your hotel, you’ll delve into the city’s modern marvels. The Magic Water Circuit in Lima awaits a Guinness World Record-certified fountain system located in the exhibition park. This mesmerizing attraction, known as Circuito MĆ”gico del Agua, captivates visitors year-round and has become one of Lima’s most popular destinations.

As the day winds down, indulge in a delightful dinner with a show at a local restaurant. Following this, you’ll be returned to your hotel to rest and prepare for the upcoming flight to Cusco, marking the overnight stay in Lima. Get ready for the enchanting experiences that await you in Peru!

Your Peruvian exploration continues as you embark on a journey to Cusco, the historic heart of the Inca Empire. After breakfast, you’ll be transported from your hotel to the airport, ready to board your flight to Cusco (flight not included). Upon landing in the imperial city, you’ll be transferred to your Cusco hotel.

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the rich history of Cusco with a guided tour. The exploration begins at the Convent of Santo Domingo, constructed atop the remnants of the Inca Temple of Qoricancha. This sacred site was a focal point for sun worship, with walls adorned in gold leaf depictions of nature, as recorded in ancient chronicles.

Next, visit the cathedral, an awe-inspiring monument that stands as a testament to the city’s grandeur. Venture into the hills of Cusco to explore the formidable walls of Sacsayhuaman, a fort offering panoramic views of the city. As the day concludes, settle into the captivating atmosphere of Cusco for the night. Get ready for more fascinating discoveries in the days ahead!

Embark on a captivating journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a route that winds through picturesque landscapes and ancient wonders. Your day begins with a 7:30 am pick-up from your hotel. The first destination is Pisac, a colonial city that hosts an indigenous market brimming with unique handicrafts and souvenirs. Explore the vibrant market atmosphere before heading to the archaeological remains of Pisac, nestled majestically in the mountains.

Continuing the adventure, traverse the charming towns of Calca and Urubamba, where a delightful buffet lunch featuring traditional stews awaits. The journey unfolds with a visit to Ollantaytambo, an Inca archaeological site and town that has preserved its heritage for over 500 years. The site provides a fascinating glimpse into Inca civilization.

On the return to Cusco, pass through the intriguing town of Chinchero, adorned with multicolored cultivated fields against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Witness a stunning sunset before arriving back in Cusco around 7 pm. Along the way, explore a colonial church housed in an Inca palace and a site museum showcasing Andean attire. Your day is filled with the magic of history, culture, and natural beauty. Rest well as more discoveries await in the coming days!

Early pick-up from your hotel, enjoy breakfast in Mollepata, and then begin your hike in Soraypampa (3900 meters above sea level), where weā€™ll meet our horsemen and horses, loading all the camping equipment. Weā€™ll start our trek to Humantay Lagoon (4200 meters above sea level).

After visiting Humantay Lagoon, weā€™ll return to Soraypampa, where our chef will be waiting with lunch. Next, weā€™ll head to our Salkantaypampa base camp, where we can appreciate the stunning views of Salkantay mountain, indulge in an afternoon tea, and savor a delightful dinner.

Wake up to a cup of coca tea and enjoy breakfast with fantastic mountain views, then reach the highest point of the Salkantay Pass at 4600 meters in 3 hours. From there, we will walk towards Wayrac Machaq for lunch. Later, we will continue towards the high jungle, where we will observe large trees with their branches extending over streams, all filled with bromeliads and orchids. Finally, descend to the second campsite.

Wake up early and have breakfast; we begin a 3-hour hike through the cloud forest. Admire the fantastic landscape of rivers and waterfalls; walk downhill to Hydroelectric for lunch and continue walking another 3 hours to Aguas Calientes. Tonight, you will stay at a hotel.

Upon reaching kilometer 104, where we commence our hike towards the archaeological remains of Chachabamba, the trail continues to lead us to the archaeological site of WiƱay Wayna. Here, weā€™ll enjoy lunch before pressing on with the trek to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), offering our first glimpse of Machu Picchu. Following this, we head to the control and entrance gate of Machu Picchu, where a bus takes us downhill to Aguas Calientes. Weā€™ll spend the night here, have dinner, and prepare for the next day, which includes our visit to Machu Picchu.

After breakfast, we will board the bus to the Machu Picchu citadel, where we will have a guided tour of the different sectors for around 2 hours. Afterward, there will be a short time to enjoy the citadel before descending by bus to Aguas Calientes to catch the return train to Ollantaytambo and then to Cusco.

Note: If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you must book at least three months in advance due to limited availability. This activity is optional (US $70.00).

Embark on a fascinating journey to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) with a pick-up from your hotel around 4:30 am ā€“ 5:30 am. The route heads south through Urcos to the Checacupe district (2 hours by bus) before continuing to Pitumarca for a delightful breakfast.

Following the road through charming hamlets, we reach the community of Hanchipata ā€“ Quesiuno (1 hour and 20 minutes by bus), the starting point for the trek. Marvel at incredible sights, including the majestic Ausangate mountains and beautiful blue lagoons.

The trek to Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain) spans approximately 3 hours, offering a stunning panorama for about an hour at the peak. Capture breathtaking views before descending the trail and returning to the bus. Lunch awaits in Pitumarca, and then we journey back to Cusco.

Wrap up your adventure by driving to the Cusco airport on your own (transfer not included) after breakfast. From Cusco, catch your flight back to Lima and then proceed to your next destination or return home.
