We depart from Cusco early in the morning and head towards Abra Málaga (4,350 m / 14,160 ft), the starting point of our cycling activity. There, we receive a brief explanation and gather the necessary equipment for the approximate 3-hour, 55 km (34.18 miles) downhill bike ride. We will arrive at the town of Santa María (1,200 m / 3,937 ft), where we have lunch before enjoying an experience involving coffee processing and coca plantations.
• If you book in advance, you can also enjoy rafting on the Vilcanota River, with category II and III rapids. For this activity, we will provide helmets, windbreakers, and category V life jackets.
Your first night will be at an ecolodge in the jungle.
After breakfast, we head to the Inca Trail where we begin a 4-hour hike through the high forest, amidst abundant flora and fauna. In this area, it’s possible to see many types of plants, orchids, birds, and other wild animals—a biodiversity paradise in the Inca jungle.
We will pass by the Cocalmayo hot springs, a reward where we can relax and enjoy its soothing waters. Admission fees for this are not included in your package and can be paid on-site. Afterwards, we will proceed to the hotel.
After breakfast, we start a hike towards Hydroelectric where we’ll have lunch, and then continue walking for another 3 hours to Aguas Calientes. Tonight will be more comfortable in a hotel.
If you have a reservation for the ziplining activity, we’ll take a van after completing this adventure to head towards Hydroelectric. During this activity, you can enjoy 4 cables of 3 km each and an 80-meter-long Tibetan bridge.
The group will rise early to head towards Machu Picchu, following an uphill path through the high forest where we may have the chance to witness the sunrise.
The guide will show us around the Machu Picchu sanctuary for about 2 hours. Afterwards, the group will have free time to explore Machu Picchu on their own. Once finished, you will take the train and bus back to Cusco.
