Given the altitude difference with Lima, take this time to get plenty of rest and acclimatize to the new environment. Sip on coca tea, a traditional remedy for altitude adjustment, and allow yourself to gradually adapt to the elevation!
As you transition from Lima to Cusco, let the allure of the Andean landscapes and the mystique of Cusco captivate your senses, setting the stage for the adventures that await.
Prepare for a day of cultural immersion and breathtaking landscapes as you embark on a VIP tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. From traditional weaving workshops to unique archaeological sites, this day promises an extraordinary exploration of Inca heritage.
We begin with the: Chinchero Weaving Workshop. A village adorned with adobe houses and locals donning traditional dress. Join a traditional weaving workshop, where intricate floral and religious designs adorn the walls and roofs. Next we head off to explore the non-traditional circuit of Moray, an archaeological marvel featuring gigantic circular depressions on the ground. These depressions, along with irrigation canals, are believed to have served as an agricultural research center for the Incas.
We then journey off to the salt mines of Moray located near Maras, a Spanish village. Witness around 2000 small wells, where local communities extract salt using ancient techniques that have sustained generations.

We board the train around 6am, embarking on a scenic 1.5-hour journey to kilometer 104, the starting point of your Inca Trail hike. Around midday we begin the hike to the ruins of Chachabamba, where the guided tour commences. Traverse the trail, passing a refreshing waterfall en route to the impressive ruins of Winay Wayna, showcasing the engineering prowess of the Andean civilization.
In the afternoon we continue on with the hike reaching Inti Punku, also known as the Sun Gate. Here we witness the first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu and take in the panoramic vista of the hillside village.
We reach Aguas Calientes, and head off to the hotel for a good night’s rest!

To end the day we board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and then take a bus back to Cusco.
Later in the evening, we catch the bus for the next leg of your journey to Puerto Maldonado.
As the sun sets over Puerto Maldonado, embark on an evening of adventure and immersion into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Your journey begins with a bus ride from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado, setting the stage for an extraordinary encounter with nature.
Upon reaching Puerto Maldonado, you’ll be transferred to the Monte Amazonico Lodge office. Receive a comprehensive briefing about the upcoming adventure, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the jungle experience that awaits you!
Once we reach the Tambopata River, we take a boat ride to Monte Amazoníco Lodge, surrounded by lush greenery. Here we have a chance to venture into the rainforest on an introductory walk, providing a glimpse into the incredible biodiversity, including; amphibians, mammals, reptiles, birds, and fascinating insects in their natural habitat.
As night falls, we return to the lodge for a delightful dinner. The Amazonian setting adds a touch of enchantment to your dining experience. The sounds of the jungle serenade you into the night, creating an immersive and tranquil atmosphere.
Embark on a Dawn Expedition to the Spectacular Macaw Clay Lick!
The day begins with an early start at 4:30 am, setting the stage for a remarkable adventure. We board a boat for an incredible journey to the renowned Chunchi Macaw Clay Lick, the largest of its kind globally. The one-and-a-half-hour boat ride offers a chance to spot diverse wildlife, from capybaras to tapirs. Lucky observers may even catch a glimpse of the majestic jaguar.
Arrive at the Macaw Clay Lick, where the real spectacle unfolds. Hundreds of parrots, representing 11 different species, gather to indulge in the clay along the riverbank. Marvel at the vibrant hues of macaws, including red and green, and blue and yellow, creating a breathtaking natural display. The experience offers a unique and unforgettable encounter with South America’s most stunning avian species.
In the afternoon we embark on a guided walk through the lodge’s botanical garden, to discover the diverse array of fruits, trees, and medicinal plants that thrive in this unique environment.
At the end of the day we head back to Puerto Maldonado, where we will spend the night.
