The Inkachiriasqa Pass is one of the highest points on the Salkantay Trek , reaching 5,100 meters above sea level. From this pass, you can enjoy spectacular views of the snow-capped Salkantay and the surrounding glaciers. It is a challenging but rewarding section of the Inkachiriasqa Lagoon trek. Inkachiriasqa Lagoon is a hidden gem at the foot of the Salkantay Mountains. It is a glacial lagoon characterized by its crystal-clear waters and stunning natural surroundings. This lagoon is lesser-known than the famous Humantay Lagoon, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a more tranquil and authentic experience
Itinerary
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.
The journey begins with an early pickup from your hotel, followed by a delicious breakfast in Limatambo. We will then begin the hike towards the Qoyllor community, continuing until we reach the stunning lagoon. After crossing it, weāll arrive at Qoyllor Pass, where we will meet our muleteers and horses, who will take care of transporting the camping equipment while we proceed towards Inkachiriasqa lagoon.
After exploring Inkachiriasqa lagoon, we will head towards our base camp, Salkantaypampa, at the foot of the Salkantay Glacier, where our chef will be waiting with a delightful lunch. From this point, we can enjoy panoramic views of the majestic Salkantay Glacier. In the afternoon, we will relax with a cup of tea, and in the evening, indulge in an exquisite dinner.
Wake up with a cup of coca tea and enjoy breakfast with fantastic views of the mountains, then reach the highest point Salkantay pass at 4600 m.a.s.l in 3 hours. From there, we will walk towards Wayrac Machaq, to have our lunch. Then, we will continue into the high jungle where we will observe large trees with their arms extended over the streams, all full of bromeliads and orchids. and downhill until the 2nd campsite.
Early wake up and have breakfast; we start hiking along the cloud forest for 3 hours. Observe the fantastic landscape of rivers, and waterfalls; walk downhill to Hydroelectric for lunch and continue hiking another 3-hrs to Aguas Calientes. Tonight youāll spend in a Hotel.
After breakfast, we take the early buses up to Machu Picchu for the sunrise. Explore the best of Machu Picchu with your private tour guide. Once you finish, you will take theĀ train and bus back to Cusco.
