This experience is designed for cruise travelers arriving at the San Martin port in Paracas, entailing a shore excursion to Machu Picchu that provides them with the best guidance and a fulfilling experience within a limited timeframe, ensuring a visit to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. You will be able to enjoy the traditional artisanal crafts of the Andes, its culture and cuisine, all meanwhile passing through some of the most breathaking landscapes and scenery!
After visiting Paracas, the From the Coast to Machu Picchu excursion begins with a transfer from the cruise port to the Lima airport to board your flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival, we’ll head straight to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we’ll stop at the Pisac handicraft market, famous for its traditional products and colorful handmade crafts.
We’ll then visit the archaeological site of Pisac before continuing to Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Ollantaytambo to explore its impressive archaeological complex before taking the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
Once there, you’ll have time to enjoy dinner and rest at your hotel while receiving important information for the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu.
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll take the bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. There, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of about two hours, exploring the temples, plazas, agricultural terraces, and the most iconic corners of this magnificent Inca sanctuary.
After the guided visit, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or, if booked in advance, climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (subject to availability). Both hikes offer breathtaking panoramic views of the archaeological site and the surrounding valley.
Following the visit, we’ll descend to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch and relax before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, we’ll continue by private transport to Cusco, making brief stops to visit Maras, Moray, the Salt Mines, and Chinchero – all places rich in history, culture, and stunning scenery.
Upon arrival in Cusco, you’ll enjoy a peaceful dinner and a well-deserved rest after an unforgettable day.
