You have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4150 m.a.s.l) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata and learn about the traditional customs of the island people. Between 7:40 a.m. and 8 a.m. we pick you up from your hotel to bring you to the port. By motor boat we take you to one of the legendary Uros Islands where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on floating reed islands, some only 20 meters in length. After a beautiful 3 hour boat ride we reach Amantani Island where we will split into smaller groups to stay with the local families. After breakfast we take a short boat ride to the neighbouring Taquile Island, where we will tour around the ruins and visit the beautiful people, world famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings. After lunch we return to Puno where we will arrive at your hotel around 4 p.m.

The tour includes motor boat transportation, a professional bilingual guide (Spanish/English), homestay accommodation with local families, and typical meals (lunch and dinner on the first day, breakfast on the second day).
The boat journey takes approximately 3 hours to reach Amantani Island on the first day and about 1 hour to Taquile Island on the second day, offering stunning views of the lake and the surrounding Andes.
You’ll spend the night on Amantani Island, staying with a local host family and enjoying traditional meals, live music, and cultural exchange with the island’s inhabitants.
The tour doesn’t require high physical effort, but it’s recommended to be acclimated to the altitude (between 3,800 and 4,150 m.a.s.l.) and to have a moderate fitness level for short hikes on Amantani and Taquile.
